Carita has over 16 years of experience in policy and government relations. Currently working at the Electrical Safety Authority, an arms-length provincial government administrative authority, with a primary role of Advisor to the Chief Public Safety Officer. In this role, Carita has worked collaboratively with health and safety partners including the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care and Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority in order to prevent fatalities and serious injuries. Previously, Carita held various roles in the provincial government including the Ministry of the Attorney General, Ministry of Labour and former Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
Carita brings a strong passion for community involvement to CarePoint Health. Her past community involvement includes volunteering as a mediator at the Conflict Mediation Services of Downsview that was supported by the Ministry of the Attorney General. She is also a former Board member of the Sustainability Ontario Community Energy Co-operative.
Educational accomplishments include a Masters of Public Policy and Management from the University of London, UK and a Certificate in Adjudication, Facilitation, Arbitration, and Mediation from Osgoode Hall Law School. Carita is also a paralegal and a member of the Law Society of Canada.
